Welcome to the official Application Bot Documentation. This documentation will list all the information about Application Bot. Should this documentation not be able to answer your question, 24/7 support is available on our Discord server here:https://discord.gg/P5NfprJ
Application Bot allows you to have application forms in your Discord Server replacing external services such as Google Forms. Most of our users use Application Bot for role applications however, since Application Bot is fully customizable, you can use it for any applications you want. The bot is designed to be simple and easy to use which allows for quick setup. Once setup, members of your server are able to fill out the application form with their answers. Then, the application form is sent to a specified channel to be assessed by whoever you decide. Next, the application can be rejected or accepted with an option to give a role, this will then direct message the applicant with a message that you can specify letting them know the outcome of their application.
"%help" - Opens a simplified version of this command sheet inside of Discord.
"%information" - Lists some general information about the bot including credits, hosting information and how to contact us.
"%invite" - Messages the server a non-embeded invite link for Application Bot.
To setup or modify an application, please navigate to https://dashboard.application-bot.com .
"%channel new" - This will create a new channel where the completed application forms will be logged. Please do not change the name of the channel.
"%channel here" - This will set the current channel that the message was sent in to be the channel where completed applications will be logged.
"%blacklist" - Running this once in a channel will blacklist all the commands from being able to be used in that channel. Running this command again in the same channel will unblacklist it.
"%default accept" - Allows you to change the default accept message for your server. Please note that this will write over the exisiting default message.
"%default reject" - Allows you to change the default reject message for your server. Please note that this will write over the exisiting default message.
"%clear" - This will clear the logs channel by purging the messages. It is only recommended doing this in a dedicated logs channel as it will delete the last 100 messages.
"%apply" - Allows a server member to apply to a set up application. This will happen in a direct message for better privacy. Please note that the questions must be set up and the logs channel must be defined before this command can successfully run.
"%questions" - This shows a list of the set questions.
"%channel multiple" - Allows you to set up interview channels. Each submitted application will go into its own channel that only a specified role and the applicant can see.
Although every effort has been made to eliminate any bugs and errors from Application Bot, it is possible (like it is with any code) that some may still be present. Should you find a bug or error, we would appreciate it if you could report it to us in as much detail as possible, including screenshots if you can. This means that we have enough information to be able to fix the bug or errors as quickly as possible.
The way to report bugs or errors is by messaging us on Discord here:https://discord.gg/P5NfprJ
What is the full setup procedure?
Once you have invited application bot, you should assign an application logs channel by doing "%channel new" or "%channel here". Next, you should navigate to https://dashboard.application-bot.com and follow the instructions there to set up your questions. That’s it, you can now use "%apply" to submit your application.
When I enter a role after doing %accept, to bot does not give the user the role?
If the bot will not give a user a role, you should make sure that the bot is higher than the role that it is trying to give in the server role hierarchy. You should also note that the bot will not be able to give roles with an administrator permission as only server owners can do that.
